EU ESPR DPP Compliance

DPP compliance built on ESPR, GS1 Digital Link, EPCIS 2.0, and W3C Verifiable Credentials. Open standards, no vendor lock-in, full auditability.

Regulatory foundation

AI DPP is built from the ground up on the EU’s regulatory framework for Digital Product Passports. The platform directly implements the requirements of ESPR 2024/1781 — the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation that entered into force on 18 July 2024.

Standards we implement

ESPR 2024/1781

The legal foundation for all EU Digital Product Passports. AI DPP’s data model, access controls, and retention policies are aligned with the regulation’s requirements.

EPRS 16-Category Framework

The European Parliamentary Research Service’s information category structure defines what data a DPP must contain. AI DPP implements all 15 structured data categories: composition, supply chain, transport, documentation, environmental, social, animal welfare, circularity, health & safety, brand information, identifiers, commercial, technical performance, cost & scale, and after-sales.

Products are identified using GTINs and resolved via GS1 Digital Link URIs. The resolver supports GTIN, GTIN + serial number, and GTIN + lot/batch patterns with full content negotiation.

GS1 GPC Classification

Products are automatically classified using the GS1 Global Product Classification standard at the brick level, covering 60+ categories across clothing, accessories, and footwear.

W3C Verifiable Credentials

Every DPP document is a W3C Verifiable Credential, cryptographically signed using Ed25519 with the eddsa-jcs-2022 cryptosuite. Any verifier can independently confirm authenticity.

DID:web Decentralised Identifiers

Each deployment has a did:web identifier with a public DID document served at /.well-known/did.json. No central authority required for verification.

CEN/CENELEC prEN 1821X Series

The technical standards (due late 2025 / early 2026) covering unique identifiers, data carriers, access rights, interoperability, data exchange, and lifecycle APIs. AI DPP’s data structures are pre-aligned with these forthcoming standards.

REACH & RoHS

Substance of concern tracking with CAS numbers, concentration levels, and compliance declaration management.

Future-proof by design

When the EU central registry and CEN/CENELEC technical standards are finalised, AI DPP will implement the connection automatically. Your existing DPPs, identifiers, and signed credentials are already in the correct format — no migration, no reconfiguration.
